I finally invested in a tripod, and I chose Benro C-297. I´t a carbon fiber tripod, so the weight is not that bad, and the build is very good. I also bought a Manfrotto 804RC2 pan / tilt head, but I´m not all that impressed with that. The mount on the Manfrotto is not solid enough to support my camera when I have Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS USM mounted on my camera body. It tilts a couple of degrees after the handgrip /adjustment is tightened. Anyway, I took it all out for a spin today, and these are some visual expression from my first “tripod shootout”
